I am a Northeastern State University-Oklahoma graduate. I earned my special needs education degree and am working towards a masters in autism. For over 30 years, I have been an educator in public education and private tutoring. My favorite subjects to tutor are any elementary-level subject, Spanish language, reading, and writing. As a tutor, I bring enthusiasm, creativity, and personalization to the table. I work one-on-one to develop a custom-tailored learning plan that factors in a student's learning style, proficiency level, academic goals, and strengths and weaknesses. I am a patient teacher, working at the pace most suited to my student to ensure they can master the subject in full. I believe that my students should feel free to ask questions while I am explaining, so any misunderstandings can be corrected early on. I can help students learn study skills and organization, offer guidance in college essays, and work with them to build their conversational Spanish skills. I believe that tutoring works best when the student and teacher work together to achieve a common goal. I am passionate about helping students to reach their academic potential. When I'm not teaching, I find joy in biking and hiking around Phoenix. I love to go swimming, traveling, and scuba diving.
